Kevin Durant’s ability Blake Griffin hasn’t seen from other stars

At this stage of his career, Blake Griffin probably has nothing but a championship in sight. He’s fortunate Kevin Durant is by his side in this journey.

The Brooklyn Nets veteran was a guest on JJ Redick’s “The Old Man & The Three” podcast, where he sang big praises for his superstar teammate.

“It’s not really like the spin moves or the tough shots, that’s all tough, but he is just so unaffected by any defender, I have never seen a player be less affected by somebody than Kevin Durant.”

Bolstered by Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden at the top, the Nets are one of the heavy favorites to win the NBA title in the 2021-22 season.

Despite the presence of Irving and Harden, though, Durant is still the Nets’ undisputed top dog. The one-time MVP and two-time champion is the alpha among alphas in Brooklyn. His performance in the 2021 NBA Playoffs and what the world witnessed at the Tokyo Olympics are testament to Durant’s rare air.

In his first active season for the Nets, Kevin Durant logged 26.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game on a blistering 53-45-88 shooting line. He did all these while playing 33.1 minutes nightly—the fewest in his career.

In the Western Conference Semifinals against Giannis Antetokounmpo and eventual-champion Milwaukee Bucks, Durant took things to a whole new level, averaging 35.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists throughout seven games.

Without a doubt, he is a cold-blooded assassin on the court. Regardless if he’s not a big fan of the Slim Reaper nickname, there’s no monicker more apt for Durant.
